Beneath the Lake - A Misadventure for Liminal Horror

Beneath the Lake is a one-shot adventure module for the game Liminal Horror by Goblin Archives. It is inspired by a mixture of Scottish folklore through the lens of Appalachian settlers, a salt production disaster from 100 years ago, and the lowering of Boone Lake in 2014 to repair a sinkhole. 

Unusual erosion has been discovered at Chapman Dam, causing the TVA to lower Lake Calhoun to make repairs. This has exposed the remains of the town of Calhoun, which had been flooded by the dam 70 years prior, and now the Chapman Historical Society has arranged a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a moonlit guided tour of Calhoun. 

But the town wasn't the only thing sealed away under the lake. The Black Rider stirs, reaching out tendrils of power, seeking to break free from its prison. And it has allies in unexpected places...
